/Editor’s Note/ Ever thought of taking the leap and going natural– but didn’t know what to expect? Our Big Chop Contributor (aka Big Chop Diva), Shaz Taylor who recently went natural, shares her #bigchop experience with you, freely and openly each Wednesday. Here’s what she had to say this week.xo.Joy

I can’t believe this is my 10th entry for Curl Sistas. I enjoy sharing my natural hair journey with you and the positive feedback has been incredibly humbling. For this entry, I’d love to give you more insight to who I am and how I became a part of Curl Sistas. Joy and I met in modern dance class at Rutgers during my freshman year. She was an ultra-cool sophomore and took me under her wing when we both needed a partner for a routine. Since then, we’ve both gone down several career paths that have built up to us doing what we love today. I earned my B.A. in journalism and early on wanted to be a music journalist. In my early ‘20s I freelanced for music blogs, worked in PR, marketing and even in children’s books. I also earned my M.A. in multimedia communications. Thanks to Joy, I kicked off my teenage dream of modeling with a makeover feature in Essence. Since then I’ve modeled for a handful of publications all while getting married to my incredible husband, moving twice, starting a food blog and developing my career in digital marketing. All of which, I couldn’t have done without the support of my family and family of friends. I feel like after these past 10 weeks of journal entries, I’ve shared so much about my hair and experience, but I really want to get to know you. Where are you from? What do you do for a living? What are your dreams? Are you natural or currently transitioning? Share your stories below in the comments. We’re all in this together. Feel free to ask me questions to answer too! -Shazmin Big Chop Diva You can also find me on Thaiandtattoos.com
