/Editor's Note/ Ever thought of taking the leap and going natural-- but didn't know what to expect? Our Big Chop Contributor (aka Big Chop Diva), Shaz Taylor who recently went natural, shares her #bigchop experience with you, freely and openly each Wednesday. Here's what she had to say this week.xo.Joy
Confidence is the best accessory.
It is going on 2 weeks since my big chop and I am loving how simple my morning routine has become. I am embracing the wash n' go and my spritz bottle is becoming my new best friend for touch-ups. The one thing that I've found the most shocking post-chop is that I sometimes feel a 'phantom ponytail.' Has anyone else experienced this? It's like my mind doesn't want to believe my hair is gone!
This week, I'm embracing my natural hair by focusing on taking good care of myself, internally. With no stress over my hair falling flat after a workout, I am starting to spend more time in the gym and focusing on eating a healthier diet. Which should, in return, promote healthy hair growth.
With all of the changes happening in my life (I just finished moving, too!), I am inspired to dress up more and show off my feminine features. Making such a drastic decision like doing the big chop makes me feel more mature and I want my appearance to reflect that.
So, how are you planning to accessorize your big chop? Have you ever skipped a workout to save your 'do?Thaiandtattoos.com Pins & Needles leather vest via Urban Outfitters (similar here, here + here) / Sporano dress via Century 21 (super flirty option here) / Rue Gembon necklace (other silvery awesomeness here)/ ASOS clutch / sandals
